A youth was chased and prosecuted by police officers after he mistakenly overtook the cavalcade of Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son- in- law Robert Vadra in southeast Delhi's Amar Colony on Thursday.
The youth identified as Saurav Rastogi, a resident of Multan Nagar, was on his way to office at Nehru Place in his Santro Car when at Captain Gaur Marg his vehicle came parallel to Vadra's cavalcade. Rastogi, who works in an advertising firm, saw an indication from security personnel to move away and nervously overtook Vadra's car.
A call was made to the police control room at 10: 20 am and within minutes the local police stopped Rastogi's car a kilometre from Captian Gaur Marg. Rastogi told the police that he did not know it was some VIP movement.
Left with no option, Rastogi was challaned by the police officers. " He was prosecuted under Section 184 ( driving dangerously) of Motor Vehicles Act," additional DCP ( southeast) Gaurav Sharma said.
