CALANGUTA: A resident of Saligao has alleged that her husband and in-laws have been harassing her for dowry since July, 2013.
A complaint lodged at the Calangute police station states that the woman has accused her husband Amir Shaikh, her mother-in-law Kalama Shaikh, father-in-law Ali Mohamamad, and brothers-in-law Hussain Mohammad, Ibrahim Shaikh, Mahaboob Shaikh and Malik Shaikh, all residents of Saligao of subjecting her to cruelty and harassment as she was unable to fulfill their demands for dowry.
Calangute police have registered an offence under Sections 498-A r/w 34 IPC. PSI Nitin Halarnkar is conducting further investigations.
