Acting on the complaint of a woman employee, software major, MacroHard Technologies has suspended an employee at the managerial position and initiated a departmental inquiry against him.
An internal committee has been formed to look into the complaint which is of very serious nature, prima facie. If found true, the manager could lose his job and may not get job again owing to the seriousness of the complaint as the society becomes more and more aware of women’s rights.
MacroHard spokesperson Navneat Agrawall briefed Na-Real times about the development.
As per Navneat, the HR head of MacroHard received a complaint from the woman named Furti Singh against Niyamat Lazmi, a manager of their Internet Exploder unit for failing to understand her “feelings” and thus causing mental harassment to her and demanded strict action to be taken against Niyamat.
Following the guidelines of the Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace law, our HR head Insaaniyat Riwaaz immediately ordered the formation of the company, suspended Niyamat after recording his statement. The committee is now examining the statement and the complaint to verify the tenacity of the complaint.
Elaborating on the complaint, Navneat said, “The woman said that her manager did not understand her feelings properly and this causes a lot of harassment to her while she works. And also that he has been instrumental in her not receiving an entire month’s salary.”
Defending himself, Niyamat said, ”She is a stupid woman. She never reported for work the entire month of January without any intimation or taking a planned leave. All my plans have gone for a toss. And now, she gives this frivolous complaint. This is the reason I was saying not to hire so many women under the “Diversity” initiative but who cares to listen. Now, I am the one paying the price instead of warning people.”, Navneat added.
Defending her complaint Furti Singh said, “I stand by my words. Did he even bother to look at the weather in January? It was so chilly and foggy, not a single day I “felt” like going to office. It was such a big mental and emotional trauma for me. And now, instead of being compensated, I am deprived of my salary and also forced to file this complaint. These men never understand the pain we women go through. He deserves a severe punishment so that no other hapless woman is forced to part with her salary just because she didn’t “feel” like going to office owing to weather”, Navneat briefed the Na-Real times about the overall stand taken by Furti Singh.
While the inquiry is still on, Na-Real times hope ends of justice are met in this case.
