MARRIED HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER HAS SEX WITH 15-YEAR-OLD STUDENT MORE THAN 50 TIMES

Another teacher is behind bars today after she had learned of a warrant for her arrest and turned herself in.  As it turns out, she is being accused of having sex with a 15-year-old student between 50 and 60 times.

The accused, 24-year-old Carrie Miller, was a married Spanish teacher at Johnson County Central High School of Tecumseh, Nebraska.  Apparently an investigation was launched into the teacher’s misconduct after they had received an anonymous tip.

During the investigation, authorities quickly learned that Miller, “routinely exchanged text messages, graphic photographs and inappropriate conversations,” with the 15-year-old student.

The two were said to have organized their encounters over the phone where they would meet both in Johnson and the neighboring Nemaha County.  According to the affidavit, the couple met in an abandoned farmhouse in the neighboring County where she is yet to face even more charges.

The affidavit goes on to explain that the woman had sex with the boy, a staggering, 50 to 60 times beginning in the fall of 2012.  Miller was noted to have still been married at the time as she filed for divorce February of 2013.

After learning of the warrant for her arrest, Miller responsibly turned herself in where she was promptly arrested.  Her bail hearing was on Tuesday where she learned she was being held on $25,000 bail.

Deputy Johnson County Attorney Rick Smith expresses that he is extremely shocked and cases like these are a scarcity in the area.  He said, “This is the first time I’ve heard of it in my 32 years.”

Several parents of the community echoed Smith’s concerns.  Pat McKinney explains that she has both children and grandchildren attending the school where Miller was teaching.  She said the only thing she felt after learning the news was, “Shock, just shock.”

McKinney continued by saying, “Children at this age are easily manipulated and easily led into doing something.”

As the school was—and still is–yet to release a statement, and convey only that they are dealing with a “personnel issue,” parents were forced to learn of Miller’s actions through the news.

Miller is set to be back in court on February 26.
