PURNIA: A case of sexual exploitation of an alleged juvenile criminal, now cooling heels in Purnia remand home, by a senior magistrate, who is also the in charge of the remand home, has come to light.
The sexual exploitation of a teenage criminal Kishore, who is in judicial custody at a remand home for his alleged complicity in an attempt to murder case came to light after his father approached the Juvenile Justice Board in Purnia on Wednesday, official sources said. Purnia DM Manish Kumar Verma promptly ordered an inquiry into the affair by the additional district magistrate (departmental inquiry) when it came into the public domain here, sources said.
Kishore, according to the complaint lodged by his father, was summoned by a senior magistrate Rajeshwari Pandey, currently holding charge of the remand home, to his residence, official sources said. He was brought to the magistrate's house in a government vehicle. The accused Kishore was not only made to do all the grinding domestic chores at the magistrate's house, but was also allegedly sexually exploited by the magistrate concerned for three consecutive days, sources said.
When the boy was brought back to the remand home on Monday, he was allegedly asked to keep his mouth shut, and not reveal his sexual exploitation. The magistrate concerned also extended a bait, saying he would help him in his exoneration of the murder attempt case if he kept the secret close to his heart, sources said. The boy, however, revealed everything as to how he was made to the do domestic chores and also sexually ravaged by the remand home magistrate when his father visited him on Wednesday, sources said.
ADM (departmental inquiry ) Rajendra Ram on Thursday said he has submitted the inquiry report to the district magistrate. He, however, did not reveal the contents of the report.
Meanwhile, Khazanchihat police station has, following Purnia SP Kim's directive, filed an FIR against the errant magistrate Rajeshwari Pandey after the Juvenile Justice Board forwarded the complaint lodged by the boy's father, SHO Arbind Kumar told TOI on Thursday.
