Newly-wed techie ends life
BANGALORE: Depressed over a problem in his marriage, a newly-wed software engineer committed suicide in his apartment inDoddabanaswadi, northeast Bangalore, on Sunday morning.

Deepak Srinivas, 28, a senior software engineer with an IT major here, and a native of Kolar, pushed his wife, Anusha, out of the house after an argument. He told her he would end his life, locked her out, scribbled a suicide note and used Anusha's saree to hang himself from the ceiling fan in the bedroom. By the time Anusha could get help from security guards and neighbours to break open the door, Deepak was dead.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police sources said Deepak's suicide note said his wife was suspicious about him, after he disclosed details of a past relationship to her.

Deepak wrote that before marrying Anusha, he was interested in a girl but she had rejected him. He then went to Denmark on work for three years. After his return, Deepak's marriage was fixed with Anusha, a distant relative and also a native of Kolar. They married on June 19, and moved into a flat in Maruthi Residency complex, behind Anjaneya Temple, Doddabanaswadi.

Recently, Deepak disclosed the details of his past to his wife. Contrary to his expectations, Anusha raised doubts that he had had an affair with the woman. The issue often led to arguments between the couple, Deepak said in his note.

"Take care Anusha. I am sorry," Deepak signed off.

A relative said Deepak had spoken to his farmer-father Sanne Gowda on Saturday night, but everything appeared fine.
